Homebrew Beer Rules

Eligibility

1. All beers must be homemade.

2. Open to any amateur brewer.  Judges may enter the competition, but they will not be allowed to judge in any class in which they have entered.

3. Commercial and Brew on Premises (BOP) beers will be disqualified.
4. This is a Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) sanctioned competition and all standard rules apply.


Entry Information

1. Two bottles of each entry are required.

2. Beer entries must be submitted in 12 oz bottles, brown or green in color.  All beers as well as bottles will be disposed of after the River City Roundup.

3. Beer entries shall bear no labels, markings, or bottle decorations. Entries bearing such will be refused.

4. All entries must be accompanied with entry form and bottle IDs.  Please fill out the forms as completely as possible.

5. There is no limit to the number of entries a brewer can enter.  All entries in the same class by an individual brewer must be of different recipes.

6. Local beer entries will ONLY be accepted at the Upstream Brewing Company, 17070 Wright Plaza, Saturday, September 5th, 2009 from 9:00 AM to noon.

7. For those who choose to ship via UPS or another carrier, entries will be accepted Monday, August 24th, 2009 through Friday, September 4th, 2009.  Entries should be addressed to:

8. Judging will begin Saturday, September 12th, 2009 at 10:00 am at the Upstream Brewing Company, 17070 Wright Plaza.

9. All exhibits must remain in place at the River City Roundup Fair & Festival until 3 p.m. Sunday, September 27th, 2009. Please call the Organizer if you need to make special arrangements or have any other questions.

10. Only the Organizers, Judges, Helpers and Scorekeeper will be allowed in the judging area.  Contestants are not allowed to converse with judges during the competition.  Violators will be disqualified.

11. All contestants are encouraged to attend the judging and observe the competition.  If you would like to help with the judging contact an Organizer listed below.
